Wish List

Recently I've been bitten by the shopping bug. For the most part I've been able to restrain myself to window shopping... which has resulted in quite a long list of gear that I am lusting after.

A white Lululemon Power Y to go underneath
my new pale colored tops.

iFitness belt for marathon training this summer...
I'm going to need that hydration.

Brooks PureCadence. I'm going to need another pair
of shoes for training and I'm reading that these are great
for people who are prone to foot pain but are more
supportive than the PureFlow that I tried.

Athleta Swagger Skort. I've been lusting after this for
more than 2 months now.

A place to hang my medals (especially my Shamrock Half Marathon medal!)

That's nearly $300 of stuff. $300 that I shouldn't spend because in addition to being a window shopper, I've also kind of been on a purchasing tear lately...

A second Under Armour Fly By Mesh Tank

Lululemon Run: Stay on Course tank from the Lulu Exchange.
I have this tank in Glacier Lace and I love it - it's been sold out
on the Lulu site for ages, so I jumped at the chance
to buy this one on the exchange.

Lululemon Deep Breath tank. I have this in black and love it...
like the Stay on Course it has been sold out for a long time.
When a pink one showed up on the Exchange
for only $30 I was a goner.

...aaaaaaand I've been wanted a woven summer purse for a while.
I found this Elliott Lucca yesterday and well... I got it. BUT
in my defense I shopped around and managed to get 15% off
AND free shipping.

Add to this a surprise opportunity to spend a long weekend with BFF in Key West/Palm Beach Florida (and along with it, a $300 plane ticket among other things), and I really need to put the brakes on my shopping spree!

... but I am really going to need that hydration belt. And the shoes.

Oh my. It's a good thing Husband doesn't read this blog.

Pluses & Minuses

+ After a long break, Prabir and I were set to run together again this evening.

- It was really stinking hot this evening, and then Prabir's OMK blew out at mile 2.5 so we had to walk the rest.

+ I wore my new favorite running top, the Under Armour Fly By Stretch Mesh Tank. This thing is seriously amazing. The mesh is so light that when you slip on the shirt, it doesn't even feel like you've put anything on. Was I hot during the run? Yes, but this tank kept air moving around me and next to my skin. It doesn't stick to you, it's loose but doesn't look like a mumu. I love it so much that I bought 2.

- It was hot. And now I'm afraid that I'm going to totally tank during my summer time marathon training.

- At lunch today, I went to run some errands at the grocery store. When I got to check out and reached for my wallet it wasn't there. Commence freak out.

+ When I got home, I found my wallet.

+ or - When I got home, there was also something waiting for me in the mailbox:

Some new Lulu! I broke my fast after 2 long months with
a purchase from the Lululemon Exchange. Please ignore my sweaty
appearance. This was post 88 degree run.

+ This was also in my mailbox:

Thank God lent is over.

+ I went to yoga last night for the first time in 2 months.

- Our instructor decided that last night we were going to work toward yoga split. This is what a yoga split looks like when done successfully. I can guarantee you I did NOT look like this.

+ But we also did two of my favorite poses - intense side angle and half bound lotus.

+ or - Thanks to tonight's failed run, I think I might attempt to wake up tomorrow morning at 6:15 and run 2 miles. Then do another 3-4 miles at the Y track after work (it's supposed to be 90 degrees and humid tomorrow).

Resolution Check In

Running - Goal: Run at least 500 miles this year; run at least 1 half marathon

Through April 30

January: 47 miles
February: 72 miles
March: 80 miles
April: 69.5 miles

Total for the year: 268.5

Reading - Goal: Read at least one book per month

January Books
Riggs, Ransom - Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
Bray, Libba - A Great and Terrible Beauty

February Books
Moran, Michelle - Madame Tussaud: A Novel of the French Revolution

March Books
Massie, Robert K. - Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman
Sussman, Ellen - French Lessons
Gilbert, Elizabeth - Committed: A Love Story

April Books
Clark, Colin - My Week with Marilyn
Morgenstern, Erin - The Night Circus

Currently reading: A Storm of Swords: A Song of Ice and Fire (still!)

Gave up on reading: Mary Boleyn by Allison Weir. Usually I eat this stuff up, but this was just boring. There is so little actual information about Mary that Weir spends most of the time talking about all of the other people in her life. YAWN.

Movies (no resolution; just to keep track)
The Artist
Underworld: Awakening
The Hunger Games
